MnChallengers Car Club hosted the All Mopar Show on Sunday August 23, 2015!
The event was FREE for everyone and we collected boxed meals, snacks, or bottled water for HOPE 4 Youth.
MnChallengers would like to thank everyone who came out to the show! Officially we had 137 registered participants, quite a few cars that were not registered, and a ton of spectators!
Huge thanks to Unique Classics on 65 for hosting our show on a Sunday!
Thank you to the Butcher Salt food truck for providing food and drinks for the day. Everyone was raving about how delicious the food is, check their calendar for future event locations to see where they will be at next! Butcher Salt’s Calendar.
Thank you to the vendors that helped make our car show a success. Bankmasters of Minnesota collectible model cars, Hardcore Customs custom airbrushing and Mobile Essences car audio and accessories. They each donated items for the silent auction to raise money for the organization HOPE 4 Youth.
HOPE 4 Youth was amazed at the generosity of show goers. Thanks to all of you, we were able to collect over 20 cases of water and many bags of food to help homeless youth in Anoka County. We also raised over $2,500 for their organization through the silent auction and t-shirt sales!

Bernard’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep invited MnChallengers once again for their annual family fun car show!
We met at the Holiday Station Store in Lake Elmo at 9:30am. Our cruise left just after 10am. We had so many cars that we moved our meetup spot to the Junior High near the gas station (This will be the new spot from now on).
Bernard’s provided a meal ticket and dash plaque for each car. There was a petting zoo and bounce house for the kids. They collected non-perishable food items for the 5 loaves local food shelf.
MNChallengers donated $450 and 136 pounds of food this year. The cash donation was used to order school supplies for under privileged students.
After the show some of the club members cruised over to Bass Lake Cheese Factory in Somerset, WI. At the end of the day, we went to Nelson’s Ice Cream in Stillwater, MN where the ice cream flavors are plentiful and serving sizes are humongous!!

MnChallengers cruised from the Twin Cities to Elgin Iowa to meet our “Southern Chapter” on August 8th. We met at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Burnsville, MN and we cruised from there to Rochester, MN. In Rochester, we met up with the Southern Chapter of Kale and Linda Monroe and Ken Connaughty and Marilyn Raveling. We cruised through Chatfield MN to Pam’s Corner in Rushford, MN (Home of Ken and Marilyn). After a brief stop, we continued on through Houston and Caledonia MN to Waukon, Postville and finally to Elgin, IA for our lunch stop.
We ate lunch at Dotzy’s Restaurant and Saloon where the floor is covered in pennies overlaid with acrylic. Rumor has it that there is one nickel hidden among the pennies in the floor. With classic American casual fare, everyone commented on how good the food was (I had the pimento cheese burger – Craig). After lunch we stopped next door at Torkelson Motors, where we checked out a sweet 2015 Torred Challenger Hellcat. Dirk Torkelson was kind enough to let Craig take a test drive, after a little coaxing from Kale.
We continued our cruise to Egelands’ Farm “The Prettiest Farm in Iowa” in Ossian, IA. The Egelands plant corn each year for charity. They give the corn to family and friends. The rest of the crop is donated to charities and food shelves. We were able to take some fantastic pictures of their property including their man-made pond (see pictures in the slideshow). From the farm, we were off to Decorah, IA (Home of Kale and Linda) to the Whippy Dip for some ice cream.
Thanks Kale, Ken, Linda and Marilyn for hosting this great cruise for our car club!! We always have LOTS of fun with The Southern Chapter!
