Guinness World Record Attempt – Largest Parade of Challengers
We are on track for meeting the same numbers we had last year. That means we are about 75 cars short. How do we fix that? By spreading the word about the record attempt and getting more Challengers out to the show. Tell your friends, tell your co-workers, share event info on Facebook, share event info on the forums, tell your local dealer and whatever else you can think of. There is one great thing about the event regardless, we will have hundreds of our Challenger friends all in one place to enjoy one of the best Mopar shows in the country. I’m really looking forward to it and I hope you are too. Thank you to all the volunteers that will be helping out at the show. Thank you to everyone else for coming out and making this the great event that it is.
PRE-SHOW MEET-UP: Jon Gohr has assembled a meetup on Saturday morning before the show at Dakota Electric, just like we have done in years past. There will be two exit times from the lot. One at 7:30 and another at 8:30. I like Jon’s description in the event on Facebook so I will include it here along with a link you kind find below. “Peaceful easy, and entirely optional, way to meet up with other members prior to entering the fairgrounds as an unruly mob!”
RAFFLE: Mike Hewitt put together some prizes for a raffle which we will use to promote the club at the show. This will also provide some fun for all of the Challenger owners crowded around us in the show field. We will raffle off prizes from Retro USA, Kenne Bell and Gunslinger. We’re still looking for raffle items so if you can, stop at your local Dodge dealer or favorite aftermarket supplier and ask them if they can donate something. We can add anything you get to the list of prizes Saturday morning. Raffle tickets will be available at the MnChallenger tent for $1 each. Winners will be announced immediatley following the Challenger parade.
VOLUNTEERS: Midwest Mopars still needs volunteers for the show. If you would like to donate some of your time to help out at the show, let us know in advance or just go straight to Brenda near the registration table on Saturday or Sunday during the show and tell her you want to help out. MnChallengers can provide two free wristbands to anyone that can work 3-4 four hours on Saturday or Sunday. All volunteers receive a free show shirt for their time.
WHAT: Largest Parade of NEW Challengers Ever Assembled
WHERE: 28th Annual Midwest Mopars in the Park
WHEN: June 2nd
If you own a new Dodge Challenger, this is an event you do not want to miss. We plan to assemble the largest parade of Mopars ever recorded. And we didn’t just pick any car to do it with, we picked the 2008 to present Dodge Challenger. We will need at least 250 cars to break the record. On top of that we’ll need to drive the cars in a parade for no less than 2-miles. Last year’s attempt got us close with 185 Challengers but this year we intend to get in the record books. Mopar will be on hand to lead the parade in a “special” Dodge Charger and Rick Berecz, Mopar’s Accessory Planning Manager will lead us into the record books.
To participate in this event with your 2008 to present Dodge Challenger, register for the 28th Annual Midwest Mopars in the Park and use class code 4200 on the registration form. Participants in the record attempt will have there own designated parking area. The parade will start at 3:00PM on Saturday June 2nd. All participants are eligible to purchase a high quality commemorative t-shirt.
This Guinness World Record Attempt is going to be a something spectacular to see let alone participate in. You’re not going to want to miss this. We look forward to seeing you there.

The burnout contest has become a huge draw. A lot of people like to gather round and watch these cars show off their muscle by laying down some rubber on a cement pad. It is cool. This year the contest is only going to be held on Saturday, but even more importantly the prizes for the burnout contest are being expanded. All prizes will be cash, and they are as follows:
These are some pretty sweet prizes, and the money can go toward a new set of tires! If you want to participate in the burnout contest please contact the contest coordinator, Richard Burton, at 651-755-7946.
