Mopars in the Park 2016 — Top 10 of show

From our club member Eric this weekend at Mopars in the Park 2016:

I was sitting by my car today when these two gentlemen came up to me and handed me this hat and this card. It took a minute as I was not expecting anything. These guys were directly from MOPAR. Top 10 of show. I am still in shock and so proud!

The club is proud of you and your beautiful car. Congrats on this award and your class plaque from the show!

ChallengerFest 7 – 4/7/16-4/11/16

WHAT: ChallengerFest 7
WHERE: Bowling Green, KY
WHEN: Thursday April 7th through April 11, 2016

10 cars started the journey from Minnesota to Bowling Green Kentucky for Challenger Fest 7 on a chilly Thursday morning at a Holiday station store in Lakeville, MN.

Day 1 was a 8-hour drive through Mason City and Cedar Rapids Iowa, through Hannibal to Earth City Missouri, just outside St. Louis.  We stayed at the Holiday Inn hotels for our entire stay and they provided clean comfortable accommodations for our group.

Day 2 was a 5-hour drive through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and ending in Bowling Green Kentucky around mid-day.  There we met up with club member Jonathan, who had been traveling and drove up from Atlanta with Peach State Challengers.  After cleaning up our cars from the long trip, we all took part in the ChallnegerFest Car Show at the Holiday Inn.

Day 3 was a Track Day for ChallngerFest.  A club member Kevin and his son David took their Plum Crazy Hellcat down the track for the first time.  Son bested Dad with a personal best time of 11.201 at 126 MPH.  After the track, the awards ceremony and silent auction were held at the hotel.  Club member Amy and her husband John took home the award for furthest distance traveled, since the drove from Carlton, MN.

Days 4 and 5 were the trek back through Davenport Iowa and back to Minnesota.  All in all, we put on over 1900 miles for the trip and everyone had a fun time.  Our club’s involvement was coordinated by club members Jeff, Gail and Doug! A special thanks to them!

Our goal is to honor the sacrifices made, help restore a sense of normalcy to the families left behind, and ease a financial burden while providing a solid educational foundation for their child’s future.
